Since the early part of 2008 Body Builders has been testing and spraying different waterborne paint systems in order to find the very best for our customers. We were one of the first auto body repair shops in Tallahassee to use “waterborne” paint. We use Akzo Nobel Sikkens Autowave paint which is a more environmentally safe option of paint.
The reason for using waterborne paint is twofold.
The first being that U.S. vehicle manufacturers have been using waterborne paint since the turn of the century and European manufacturers have been spraying it for about 35 years. Now that waterborne paint has become viable for auto repairers we can come even closer to paint replication.
Secondly, the reality is that paints contain chemicals that can be harmful to our environment. We want to reduce these harmful emissions as much as possible. Waterborne paint does just that by replacing some of the thinners with distilled water, which in turn reduces VOC emissions. And when combined with our existing thinner recycling program, electrostatic system, and downdraft paint booths, Body Builders is leading the way in green auto repair.
Body Builders… Leaving Tallahassee greener for the future.
